My first edit!

Posted by louisa_parry on 18 February 2008 in English.

My first edit - woo!

I added both Mitford Road and Simpson Grove but John's got the © on Simpson because he joined it to Hall Road afterwards.

Am finding JOSM to be a PITA and am off to see if I can get some guidance from some more experienced people on IRC. Failing that, I'll just collect some traces and fill them in after we have the OSM session on Sunday.

Which reminds me I need to organise that...

Technically you both have ©, if you both edited it. Osmarender attributes the 'copyright' to the last person to touch a way, even though it may be just a tiny edit.

And, yes, JOSM does have a steep learning curve, but once you get used to it, its quite a quick editor.
I usually find it best to keep one hand on the A and S keys to quickly switch between adding mode and move/select. It also allows for quick access to the meta-key-modifiers (unsticky the adding of nodes, new way, dont connect etc), Ctrl-Z (undo) and Alt-A (add a tag)

I was only joking about the copyright thing really. I'd be happy for OSM to have the copyright - I'm not doing this for personal glory ;)
